Manuscript Release No.2: Track No. 1:
Authorized by the President of: Davidian Seventh-Day Adventist 11th Hour Publishing

Elton R. Flowers (Mal.4:5)

     God calls His people to elevate the standard. The church must show their zeal for God in dealing with those who have, while professing great faith, been putting Christ to open shame. They have imperiled the truth. They have been unfaithful sentinels. They have brought reproach and dishonor upon the cause of God. The time has come for earnest and powerful efforts to rid the church of the slime and filth which is tarnishing her purity. The church of Christ is called to be a holy, powerful people, a name and praise in all the earth. There has been opened a fountain for Judah and Jerusalem, to wash from all uncleanness and sin. There is an astonishing backsliding with God’s people, to whom has been entrusted sacred, holy truth. Her faith, her service, her works, must be compared to what they would have been if her course had been continually onward and upward, according to grace and holy truth given her. {TM 450.1}

(1 Pet. 4:17)

     In this balance of the sanctuary, the individual members of the Christian church will be weighed; and if her moral character and spiritual state do not correspond to the benefits and blessings conferred upon her, she will be found wanting. If the fruit does not appear, then God is not glorified. {TM 450.2}

God’s professed people are now to pray and work for the purification of the church; we must sigh and cry…….blow the trumpet in Zion…….against all abominations being done in the midst of her. Eze. 9:4; Isa. 58:1; RH 6/3, 1880; 1/8, 1884; 7/18, 1882.

“…….Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.” Romans 14:5

The noun “Let” implies or suggests “hindrance”(RH 2/06, 1908.)

“………I the Lord speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.” Isa. 45:19

I’m compelled to inquire! Are the words written, and spoken by “holy men” (2 Peter 1:21) under the inspiration of the Spirit vain words? Do their words command (serious thought) holy respect and attention? What are we to be persuaded of? We’re to be fully persuaded in our own hearts (minds) that only He the Greatest of visionaries can in righteousness declare the beginning, and end of all things perfectly; without one word spoken in vain (nothing excluded).

Don’t you want to know with certainty the past, present, and the future destiny of mankind? But with knowledge comes responsibility; and knowing gives you security and confidence. I really don’t care for uncertainties in such a dangerous world as ours. We need to know what we believe and believe what we know. I think we need a motto. What should it be? Our motto should be: “To know, and take action, to execute to perfection what we know” (E.R. Flowers: Files).

What is the church’s most urgent need? Our most urgent need is a revival and reformation among the living not among the dead saints. Too many professors of the gospel possess not living faith, but dead faith; and many others know the truth in theory only. Come! And let us return unto the Lord in the mightiest of all revivals and reformations. Oh, how my heart yearns for that old time religion of God’s royal and chosen generation. The world hates a pure and undefiled religion. We must act out all the faith which we in reality possess. The time we live in demands action.

So many have become, and many more are joining the ranks of are becoming despotic arbitrators;  cruel dictators. Liberty of conscience is now a thing of the past; even our freedom of religious liberties are being attacked from every direction. Many are now being threatened with violence, and even death if they so choose to think, and act in accordance with the way which leads to true freedom – the narrow path; this path is supernaturally separated from the “broad…way” displayed by the majority, who convincingly (coveting it) think it to be the right way, but the Bible proves it to be the wrong way; this theatrical “broad…way” will end at the time of the second death.

Don’t take these things for granted. Satan’s time has expired, and he's more determined now than ever to make the Living Spirit of prophecy a thing of fantasy. Upon whatever you base your decisions or choices in this life, will determine your eternal destiny! There will be no second chance for anyone of us!

Diagnosing the Problem *“Why” Before Applying The Balm

Consider this fact: that there’s so much unrighteousness; iniquity abounds (lawlessness: prevailing wickedness); agape love has waxed cold in all of the mainstreamreligious establishments; all are filthy (polluted): and if there’s no place clean/purified, then what can be said of the world? See Isa. 28:8; Rev. 3:14-22; Isa. 33:9; *Jer. 8:22; Hos. 12:11; 6:8-9.

Rev 13

It is at the time of the last step (the Laodicean period ? number 7) that the wheat and tares are commingled together – that the purification or separation by slaughter will commence in the “city” or “Jerusalem before the image is again setup.” The seven heads on the leopard like beast of Rev. 13 is inclusive of all Christendom (apostate Protestantism). All sects major and minor; none excluded. Seven always symbolizes complete (perfect). What caused the wound on the this beast to heal? Two things -- The message of the second angel of Rev. 14:8 and the rejection of the Elijah message.

The book of Zechariah has been a closed book until now. The prophecy applying directly to this last generation. Therefore it becomes present truth. According to Zech. 13:7-9 the House of David must be purified. Hence a message of purification must come to separate the faithful Protestants from the unfaithful apostates. More information will be shared on this subject as we continue to feast on this fresh provender coming from the universal dairy.

All who reject this message of His mercy via the present truth sent by the Deliverer, to deliver us from Egypt (worldliness), and eventually to keep us out of the “bottomless pit” of “gross darkness” are placing themselves, and others in a hopeless situation. When we do this we are committing the unpardonable sin. Considering from cause to effect we see that an uprooting of the worldly (actions) among the Israel of God must take place; the ax must be laid at the root of the tree that it may never again take root and bare this most toxic fruit of “good and evil” ?. wheat and tares comingled. We can never understand Satan’s power over the human mind unless we possess the mind of love which possessed Christ: i.e., the mind of God. Think on this: there are wheat with tarelike qualities and tares which resembles the wheat, but neither can change what they really are except the wheat.

This pressure cooker epoch is about to explode. Where will you find shelter from the storm or “whirlwind” (Jer. 30:23; Hos. 8:7), etc.? This world as we humanly (from a carnal perspective: through our senses of limitations), view it we hear, and see so many different things (distractions), which causes us to lose touch with reality, getting us off balance so to speak.

Today there are so many voices, voices, voices crying out (1Cor. 14:10), declaring this thing and that thing…….; there are so many sounds being made, and it is for us to apply good judgment and make the distinction between them; to do this we must possess wisdom, knowledge and understanding, that we may distinguish these various communications which are being made, vying for our attention, and using whatever means necessary to get it. Pray for understanding; make the book of Proverbs your constant companion. Read James 1:5-8. Our faculty of reasoning must be constantly active for it to become fully developed: attaining to perfect maturity. (See 1Cor. 13:11.)

Brothers and sisters we must turn from all the glittering attractions of the world; these things are in reality distractions, to keep us from the one reality in this life and the life to come (eternal life). Elijah invites you to seek the Lord and His righteousness and all these things (in His name) will be added.

What then must be the conclusion in all of this? Thanks be to God that He has taken the reigns; and He appoints (Luke19:14), inspires (2Tim. 3:16), then He sends in His stead “somebody” (an interpreter of the prophets dreams and visions), declaring the newsworthy gospel of the  mercies and righteousness of Christ (the ceremonial law/the plan of His salvation). You can read much more regarding this “somebody” whom the Lord sends to His professed people in part one of: Passover…Lord’s Supper… Easter: by E.R. Flowers. This teacher of righteousness is sent to deliver us from this dreadful, hapless plight; this bottomless pit of failure and confusion. (Read TM 467-468; PK 140.) Our deliverance has already begun! All things are in place and ready. What this all means is simply this: since the Lord promised to send to His church Elijah (Mal 4:5), then it’s the prophet's responsibility to introduce himself to the church. The prophet and “the….. day” cannot be separated. He comes before it begins and must be alive during it. The people cannot survive the day without Elijah. This Elijah prophet cannot be John the Baptist. Note the future tense of the chapter and especially verses 5-6. This prophet is the antitypical Elijah whom the Lord uses to restore all things. His first work in restoring all things is to "turn the heart of the fathers..... and the heart of the children to....." each other. See Mal. 4:5,6

All idols must be uprooted from the heart or they will cause us to be uprooted from the earth. An idol can be anything that we put above Christ and his truth; it can be even a wrong thought. We cannot serve two masters. We must rend the heart and not the garment of present truth. To summarize and to sequentially relate this matter of fact note:

The Lord calls the messenger and delivers the message to him. The messenger we are told is the last: the last prophet with the last message. Not only Malichi, but Christ also said that the last prophet was to be Elijah (many will claim this to be John the Baptist; but John didn’t fulfill the prophecy, he never restored "all things"). Elijah must first experience genuine revival and reformation in his heart, only thus can he buy the power of the spirit turn the hearts of the families to each other. Scripture also declares this last messenger to be a priest acting in the capacity of an intercessor. He educates the people how to worship in spirit and in truth. Considering the prophecy of being an intercessor we see the work of the servant from another angle (Zech. 3:1-3) ? the closing work of the church.”

We see Joshua in filthy garments (the garments we are told symbolizes the message of present truth). He is the first to receive the garments being the high priest. Never lose sight of this fact that the message is represented as the garment. This prophecy we are told “applies with peculiar force” at this time. (5T. 472.)

Joshua remembered has on "filthy garments."  He is the first to receive the change of garments: none can survive the day without receiving their change of garments including, and especially the high priest. Receiving this change, we can then govern our lives and homes -- thus we become Zerubbabel (goveners), and finally in the completion of the restoration we become kings over the earth. Promotion remember cometh from the Lord. Continuing to rightly interpet God's word that we may apply it to our lives is revival and reformation in verity.  The Phrophet, Priest, and Govenor must receive and wear the change of garments given. Revival and reformation begins with the head.

For Elijah to do this work of turning “the hearts of the fathers and the hearts of the children” to each other, he has to possess the remedial antidote for this remarkable healing to take place, during the time of “the great apostasy” (Hos. 8:1-4, 14; see also Herald’s Review page 5, para. 1 - p.7: by E.R. Flowers). Hence it is in the time of this great (omega) apostasy, among the professed people of God and during the comingled state of the wheat and tares in the church (in the Gilead period) this separation is effected by the healing “Balm” or “the divine antidote” ?. the answer to the “why” of Jer. 8:22 after which will apply Jer. 46:11. Read Passover...Lord’s Supper…Easter parts 1 and 2; Judgment of the Living: by E.R. Flowers. These manuscripts detail the “why” of Jer. 8:22 effecting the desired change and thus answering the question: is there iniquity in Gilead? The ready reply:

But they like men have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me.

Gilead is a city of them that work iniquity, and is polluted with blood.

And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness.

I have seen an horrible thing in the house of Israel: there is the whoredom of Ephraim, Israel is defiled.

Also, O Judah, he hath set an harvest for thee, when I returned the captivity of my people. Hos. 6:7-11.

………The Lord gives these admonitions and reproofs in mercy. When his professed people move in blindness, yield to temptation, and lose their hold upon him, he sends them a message of reproof, of warning, of counsel; if they refuse to be corrected, if they rise up in rebellion, and cast reproach upon the messenger whom he sends, they reject not the messenger, but the Lord. When the people refused “to listen to the counsel of Samuel the prophet, the Lord said unto him, They have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me.”{RH January 8, 1884, par. 16}

Those who refuse to receive reproof and to be corrected, will manifest enmity, malice, and hatred against the instrument that God has used. They will leave no means untried to cast stigma upon the one who bore to them the message. They will feel as did Ahab toward Elijah, that God’s servant is the one who is the hindrance, the curse. Said Ahab, “Art thou he that troubleth Israel?” But Elijah threw back the imputation: “I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father’s house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and thou hast followed Baalim.”{RH January 8, 1884, par. 18}

Inspiration has made a startling charge against the angel or leaders of the Laodicean Church denouncing them to be even worse than king Omri and king Ahab; even calling them “Hazaels” ? this (cruel and deceitful) Syrian man God told Elijah to anoint (via reformation) as king to be a scourge against the apostate nation of Israel. See E.G. White reference index under “Hazael.” Give special attention to 5T. 77-79.

He who can read the hearts of men as an open book, sees that which short-sighted mortals fail to discover. Finite wisdom cannot discern the necessity for sharp rebukes, for urgent warnings and entreaties. Those who are themselves deceived in men and in their purposes, will pronounce against the messages of reproof which God sends, and will undertake to interpret the matter to suit their own ideas. They turn aside the counsel of God, that it shall not do the work which he designed. Those who have confidence in them are misled, and through their influence they cast aside the warning which God sends them, and then Satan stands ready with his delusions to ensnare their souls. The Lord would have saved them from the ruin if they had listened to his voice. Those who should have helped them, but who only injured them, must render an account at the bar of God. They have influenced souls to doubt, to disbelieve, to disregard, and finally reject and bitterly oppose his work. Souls purchased with the blood of Christ are lost, because of the unfaithfulness of those who profess to stand as sentinels for God.{RH January 8, 1884, par. 19}

God’s word represents but two great classes among men. Said Jesus to his disciples, “If ye were of the world, the world would love his own; but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.” There are but two classes of religious teachers. Of one class the apostle John declares: “They are of the world; therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.” Of the other class he says: “We are of God; he that knoweth God, heareth us; he that is not of God, heareth not us.”{RH January 8, 1884, par. 20}

Note what Mal. 4:5 says, “I will send YOU” – He sends to His people, i.e., to the church the prophet Elijah. What is the significance of all of this? Just this! This is the only way revival and reformation comes to the church. Elijah’s message is against all idolatry in the heart. All idols must be uprooted entirely or we will be demolished with our idols. Find out what are your idols! This means we must live up to all the truths we have already received.  If we fall short then we know we must make the change.  “The messenger of the covenant” (Mal. 3:1) comes to prepare the way for the half hour silence (Rev. 8:1) which leads to the question: “who shall be able to stand?” Rev. 6:17.

It is now that the people or church must square-up with what the Bible says, not what we want it to say. “It is written” is it not? When we all begin to speak the same thing as it is in the law of God’s theocratic order, only then can we become as one in the unity of the faith (John 17). It’s Satan’s plan to keep us at variance with each other. One voice is to be heard: the Elijah voice movement. You are now being weighed in the balances of the sanctuary! Joshua is now receiving his change of garments. Humble yourself! Study! Study! Study! Make the change and rend the heart, but not the garment.  What you do now is for all eternity. Read John 17:1-3. Friends, the hour is no longer “near” but “the hour is come”! The hour of judging the living! Read Jer. 8:7.

Understanding the “Why” of Jer. 8:22 is the key to know when the judgment of the living begins. My manuscript Judgment of the Living is a must read:It is pivotal to understanding the purification or separation of the wheat and tares, etc. Definite time is not to be the issue or test as to when the judgment of the living begins as it was with the 2300 days pinpointing the beginning of the judgment of the dead in 1844. Read Rev. 10:6 last part.

From (Rev. 14:6-10), the ninth to the 12th hour: that is from 1844 to the close of probation there is only three hours. Meaning there is time enough for only one movement within this three hour period. This is where Rev. 10:6 applies, see 2 SR 233.

Friends, the PREPARATION is the all essential thing that we must make at this most critical juncture. To get a better grasp on this definite time element read our tract – Supplement explaing the cover of Passover... Lord's Supper... Easter Manuscript. Visit www.dsdapublishing.org or .com. The prophetess made numerous confessions that the judgment of the living “had not yet come” in her day. See 4T 384-387; 4BC p. 1140; etc.

Implied in Mal. 4:5 is that “somebody” – singular a person must be His mouthpiece, speaking and declaring righteousness; a teacher/speaker of an up-to- date (present truth) message. This “somebody” must be fully persuaded in mind by the convincing/convicting/drawing/ wooing influence of the Holy Spirit. [“One… working in right lines”] to achieve (through revival and reformation – reorganization 6T 267; 8T 251) the goal of oneness with Heaven’s Theocratic Government. See Passover…Lord’s Supper…Easter p. 61: by E.R. Flowers.

How can the General Conference (of the SDA Church leadership of yesterday and today) be God’s voice of present truth when they have like all other mainstream religious establishments rejected every message sent to them? This is what caused the wound on the head of the beast of Rev. 13 to be healed. Many professed Adventists are given the trumpet an uncertain sound. Seven Day Adventists are no longer true to the Protestant colors of the flag of protest. See Isa. 4:1; read also GCB. p. 25; 8 Tr. 49; 2T 604 – “A Solemn Dream”. Study the chart below.  Take careful note of her steady downward course to this very present time.

Question No. 13:
How can it be true that no progressive truth was given to the church during the forty-year period from 1890 to 1930, when so many of Sister White's writings were published from 1890 to 1915?

Though many of Sister White's manuscripts were published during the period of time stated above, yet a careful check will reveal that if any new revelation of timely Bible truth, ‘meat in due season,’ was published therein, it was revealed to her before 1890. In fact, as early as 1871, she herself announced this cessation of light through the Testimonies: ‘ I am authorized from God to tell you that not another ray of light through the Testimonies will shine upon your pathway, until you make a practical use of the light already given.’ --Testimonies, Vol. 2, p. 606.

So whatever Testimonies she wrote between the dates in question (1890 and 1915) were not expressly to reveal timely Bible truth, but primarily to furnish counsel, admonition, reproof, and instruction in righteousness in an endeavor to save the Laodiceans from being spued out. Any other of her writings remained, in their prophetic aspects, a mystery until the forty

years expired with the arrival of The Shepherd's Rod. So long without spiritual oil, the church's Truth-containing vessel needed to be refilled with fresh oil, that her lamp might lighten her path all the way to the Kingdom, lest she fall from the strait and narrow road at the very end of her long pilgrimage. So in His great love and mercy, the Lord has sent The Shepherd's Rod to gather up and make a practical use of the light already given. Therefore, now, commands the Lord, "Hear ye the Rod, and Who hath appointed it." Mic. 6:9. 1Ans. 93-94.

Inspiration tells us that they have even silenced the “fainter cry” being preached by (DSDA’s) “sanctified” and “unsanctified” ministers. Behavioral attitudes of this nature would cause them all to be at odds with the Trinity. We have all the weight of scriptural (biblical) evidence to prove the case against - the Laodiceans.

Who are they? We will identify who these “Laodicieans” are. I appeal to those who still have reasoning ability to “let us reason together”. Isa. 1:18. God’s one voice is now speaking to us through the message (the Divine Antidote) that He is now sending; for the “healing of the daughter” of His people (Jer. 8:22). Those who are preaching that message are represented as His glorious voice. The straight and final testimony to the angel of the Church of the Laodiceans is the voice of the loud cry angel. See Rev. 7:2; 14:7-9; 18:2. Ponder these verses in solemn, prayerful admiration; contrast Rev. 14:7 with John 17:1.

Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. Rev. 14:7
These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
John 17:1

Today this voice of the “TRUE WITNESS” (Rev. 3:14) is testifying through the messengers sent with the message (6T 420). The work of these messengers is directed by the spirit of truth; the spirit of truth only can direct their work in the way of all truth and righteousness. The spirit and the word must always be in one accord. The Holy Spirit can never be in disagreement to the law and the testimonies of the prophets. See Isa. 61:8-11. Read these other references: 1John 5:6-11; John 17: 15, 21-23; 15:18-27; Matt. 10:20.

The Lord in His great mercy sent (in 1888) a most precious message to His people through Elders Waggoner and Jones.

The message was not sent through E.G. White; in her statements she is simply endorsing the new message and messengers who were sent with the message; and she assisted them in preaching the message of the hour.

This message was to bring more prominently before the world the uplifted Savior, the sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. It presented justification through faith in the Surety; it invited the people to receive the righteousness of Christ, which is made manifest in obedience to all the commandments of God. Many had lost sight of Jesus. They needed to have their eyes directed to His divine person, His merits, and His changeless love for the human family. All power is given into His hands, that He may dispense rich gifts unto men, imparting the priceless gift of His own righteousness to the helpless human agent. This is the message that God commanded to be given to the world. It is the third angel’s message, which is to be proclaimed with a loud voice, and attended with the outpouring of His Spirit in a large measure. TM 91.2.

Some have been cultivating hatred against the men whom God has commissioned to bear a special message to the world. They began this satanic work at Minneapolis. Afterward, when they saw and felt the demonstration of the Holy Spirit testifying that the message was of God, they hated it the more, because it was a testimony against them. They would not humble their hearts to repent, to give God the glory, and vindicate the right. They went on in their own spirit, filled with envy, jealousy, and evil surmisings, as did the Jews. They opened their hearts to the enemy of God and man. Yet these men have been holding positions of trust, and have been molding the work after their own similitude, as far as they possibly could....TM 79-80.

"In 1888 at the General Conference held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the Angel of Revelation 18:1 came down to do his work, and was ridiculed, criticized and rejected. And when the message he brings again, swells into a loud cry, it will again be ridiculed, spoken against, and be rejected by the majority." -E.G. White, Taking up a Reproach.

The majority rejected it and when the message returns and swells into the loud cry it will again be rejected by the majority.

‘The whole of Revelation 18 will be fulfilled in the glorious closing of this work. It hasn’t yet been fulfilled, and yet the light of the 4th angel’s message began to shine in the strange and impressive way at Minneapolis. The only reasonable conclusion is that the light was put out by human instrumentalities.” -- E.G White, Letter 106, 1902.

Note: the message comes first in truth (light) not power: According to Joel chapter two and verse twenty three, in the KJV, the word “rain” is used, which is a symbolic or figurative term. If you have a marginal reference in your KJV notice that it gives for the word “rain” the original renderings as a “teacher” — teaching in “righteousness”. The Holy Spirit directs Elijah in “righteousness” (John 16: 8-10). Read also TM 506, 507:1; 7 BC 984 (Rev. 18:1); EW 71, 86. Power (Joel 2:28) comes after the reception of the “rain” which develops the grain.

God’s faithful, truth seeking people first must unite on the platform of truth. Unity can never be achieved while there is error being taught among the little flock of God’s heritage. A platform of this nature will not withstand “the whirlwind of the Lord” Jer. 30:23. The platform must be immovable!

Forces of the discordant elements such as erroneous ideas, theories, (generally speaking in reference to our doctrinal beliefs) habits, and practices (especially in the area of health reform – 6T 267) are still among those who keep the commandments of God and have in their midst the testimony of Jesus Christ. These forces (manifested in our lives) are represented as hindrances eclipsing that oneness which Christ prayed for. (John 17.) All Bible standards must again be restored.

We’re told in letter 106, 1902, that the light (which lighteth every man) the message of the hour which God chooses to send could be “put out” – How? By our rejecting the very present truth for the “…hour,… day, … month, and a year” (Rev. 9:15) – thus rejecting Christ Himself; whose represented as “the truth…or the light”. Did He not say “I am the Truth” but for how long is He the Truth or the light? Is it for… an hour, … a day, …a month, or … a year”, or is it for eternity? James the apostle said: If you reject one truth you reject all.

For the clarity of truths sake l will go a little further and explain by using an illustration how the truth or light can be “put out”. Metaphorically speaking in describing this situation we shall use a blindfold to symbolically represent the leadership or governing body of the House of David who caused the light of the world to be put out: A blindfold we know is placed over the eyes temporarily preventing the person who has it on from seeing anything, but darkness until it is removed. Likewise this blindfold, representing the Church leadership, acts as a blindfold over the eyes of the Church and world, thus preventing them from seeing the True Light of the world temporarily until it is by Gods amazing grace removed permanently.

Such a condition existed during the time of ancient Isreal. Breifly stating this matter the prophecy in its historical application we have this: Satan conquered the leaders of Isreal: the ten tribes -- the northen division of the kingdom and the last remaning two tribes -- southern division.  God shows the Isrealites to represent his character.  But instead of representing his character, on the contrary they became a blindfold covering the eyes of the people; thus preventing the light of Gods character from shining upon the world. At the time of the first advent, the prophet Isiah sums it up this way:

And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness. Isa. 8:22

Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. Isa. 9:1-2

The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up. Matt. 4:16

Christ came to remove the blindfold from the eyes of the blind who are leading the blind, but they chose to eclipse the light of the world; and those upon whom this ever increasing Light shine were blessed with its soothing rays penetrating the ailing eyes of those who longed to see things aright in this time of "gross darkness....." "Trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish." Isa 60:2; 8-22.  Anointing the blinded eyes with this remedial "eyeslave" restores smartness to the conscience -- "No pain, no gain." Read 7BC 965, Rev 3:18.

We are now in the antitypical period of these scriptures.  A clear vision and understanding of the Messianic prophecies in relation to the "first dominion" (Mich 4:8), and seeing the King in his beauty (Isa 33:17), demands this anointing of our eyes with the "eyeslave," and hence the blindfold will be no more.  The time in which we live is worse than the time of Christs first advent.  The path on which we are traveling to the city or kingdom --  the first dominion (Mich 4:8), is a very narrow one, therefore we cannot afford to be as the blind leading the blind.  At the beginning of this path was a "bright light" (the "midnight cry").  This light is not diminishing or flickering but ever increasing in its glorious brightness (See Isa 30:26). The Light has returned; arise and shine.

And now the people by beholding Him becomes changed, and reflects His image; there’s a transformation taking place as they see Him face to face. The blindfold has been removed: those who have been and are a misrepresentation of His character all fall in the “general” ruin…; they are to be no more! The Lord be glorified; Praise Him! All who chooses to, can now see clearly that we are one with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and with all the unfallen worlds. Read and study John 17 every morning for your atonement or worship upon rising: Always begin the day and end the day with Him.

“God does not want any man to think that no other (fresh) message is to be heard but that which He may have given (in 1844 and before). We want the past (1844) and fresh (during 1888 and also the 1929 advancing truth) message (the one for today’s generation).” -- RH, March 18, 1890

A Spirit Lead People

Perilous times are before us. Every one who has a knowledge of the truth should awake, and place himself, body, soul, and spirit, under the discipline of God. The enemy is on our track. We must be wide awake, on our guard against him. We must put on the whole armor of God. We must follow the directions given through the Spirit of prophecy.” GOSPEL WORKERS 1915, PAGE 308

A Commentary
On the Gift of The Living Spirit of Prophecy

There is still another peculiar feature which distinguishes the remnant church. They “have the testimony of Jesus Christ”. Whatever this is, it is peculiar to them; for the prophet notices it as a feature which distinguishes them from others. If God had not seen fit to tell us what the“ testimony of Jesus” was, we might not be able to agree in regard to it. But in Rev. 19:10, He has given us an inspired definition of the meaning of this term. The prophet there tell us that the “ testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy”. As it is a universal law of language that the definition of a word will always give us the true sense when put in the place of the word itself, we will take the liberty of inserting this definition in the passage of scripture we are considering.

“And the dragon was wroth with the women, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the spirit of prophecy.”

Here we learn by the very simplest and plainest statement that this last church will have the spirit of prophecy in their midst. When that church, then, does come upon the stage of action, one at least of these spiritual gifts will be in its possession……..this cannot be avoided by any fair logic.

The spirit of prophecy here referred to as being in the last church is evidently that spirit which causes certain persons to prophesy. This Spirit comes upon certain ones. They speak as they are moved upon by this Spirit. Future events or things necessary for the well being of the church to know are thus revealed. From the instances referred to a former article in this series, we learn that the usual manner of the Spirits manifestations, when prophecy is uttered, is through vision, the person’s mind being completely under the Spirits control and lost to all sub luminary things. After things are thus revealed to the person, the things shown are spoken or written out for the benefit of others. It is not the prophecies of the Bible which are in the last church that are thus referred to as the “spirit of prophecy”. All classes and churches have them in their possession. But this Spirit is something which distinguishes this last or true church from others.
This same expression, “testimony of Christ,”, is used in 1Cor. 16, ‘Even as the Testimony of Christ was among you; so that He came behind in no gift.’ This expression plainly refers to the spirit of prophecy. It was a gift exercised in the Christian church by living individuals and not the writings of those who had lived ages before.

Here we see not only that spiritual gifts were to be continued in the church till the last days, but we have a peculiar test by which to determine who the true people of God are in the last days from this last verse of Rev. 12. It is easy to demonstrate from the Bible that we have reached the last days……..

They are to be an unpopular class…………Satan is wroth with them and make war upon them…….they are to be the last of the true church…………they…….keep all…Ten Commandments…….they also…have the spirit of prophecy in exercise among them…and known as believers in it.

When it tells us to ‘try the spirits,’ to ‘prove all things’, and hold fast that which is good’(1John 4:1; 1Thess. 5:21) it is our duty to do this. E.G. White Present Truth and Review and Herald Articles, pgs. 120, 138 and 211. (1849 – 1885.)

A.G. Daniells, another conference president in his book “The Abiding Gift of Prophecy” page 6 also testified that the gift was to abide from Adams time to the second advent of Christ when He comes to take them to paradise.

Nevertheless, let me press the issue here a little further: as to what the Living Spirit of prophecy is, and what we have been shown it is not. I need not go very far with this matter, but to inquire of those who say, and believe that the gift of the Living Spirit of prophecy is the Bible or the writings of the prophets to please submit Bible proof showing the evidence of such a claim (1Thess. 5:21); to this divinely called servant of the Most High God. (Mal. 4:5.)

Prove all things; and try the spirits, get Bible proof where this or that can be found in the scriptures. Demand from these claimants “where it is written” in the Bible.

Please read Rev. 12:17; 19:10; 22:8-10; Dan. 10:21; Hos. 12:13; Amos 3:7 and etc. All of these positively, and conclusively prove the Living Spirit of prophecy to be an active, driving, all pervasive power among the believers; it’s a phenomenal experience. See John 16:26,27 et al. Paul in his epistle to the Corinthians vehemently encouraged them to “covet” the gift (1Cor. 12:31; 14:39) via the more excellent way of love working as an undergirting principle. (1Cor. 13.): in other words it is not the written testimony on paper, but the testimony which becomes holy flesh and blood, something active and not passive (ink and paper). “He must increase and I must decrease….it is no longer I but Christ in me.” They were to “desire” the best of the spiritual gifts; Paul in conclusion chose “that they may prophesy” 1Cor. 14:1. Without this gift active in the church Satan triumphs. Satan’s “last great deception” is to make this gift of “none effect”. The true and living testimony is to be active and not passive (dead). 1SM. page 48. Do you agree?

Don’t you want to be one of the 144,000 or one with them who are without guile coming from their mouth, declaring the straight testimony and keeping all of God’s commandments/instructions? Greatly beloved of the Father, the only other choice is to be of the world.

When God at first spoke and later wrote in stone His Testimonies, was He in any way showing Himself in any of these ten precepts to be extremely particular? God says remember the seventh day Sabbath (Saturday is number 7) the world says it is “Sunday” the first day of the week. It is amazing to me how brilliant the mind of man is yet he cannot count to seven. Man even goes as far as to say “My Sabbath is on ___; this day is my Sabbath and not the seventh”. God is very specific, He considers this day to be above all the other days. The world can remember all of their holidays but not this one (the seventh). It seems as if the world all at once begins to suffer from schizophrenia.

I’m ready, willing, and able to see with my own eyes, and hear with my ears the evidence presented from those making the argument that God Himself visited this earth and (Exo. 19) delivered the altered or changed Decalogue (Exo. 20) showing that the seventh day Sabbath was replaced by the first day. If anyone can produce such a bold and blasphemous statement it would prove that God and His law is imperfect and that the Bible is an insignificant object. The originator of such a claim must now step forward, and produce the Ten Commandments, written in stone showing the change in the “good, just and perfect law.” Now wait just one minute! I remember reading in the Good Book that we are not to add or subtract from God’s Word (Rev. 22:18-19). Study for yourself and know what is written concerning the Moral Law of Ten Commandments, and the prophets. If God changed His own law then He can be charged with breaking His own law, and His Son suffered in vain; for He need not had gone through what He experienced by the hands of His own creation. God then could not be looked upon or considered to be a loving and compassionate Father but a trifling despot that cannot be trusted. Friends the law is like a mirror; we see ourselves in it; it reveals what is right and what is wrong. Ponder this question: who is the all perfect One that never changes?

All of this seems very diabolical; and it is! It is all satanic. From the very beginning Satan’s goal and aim has been to misrepresent the law, and character of God through the mediums of his choice. But this is the fundamental reason why God said: “I will send you Elijah the prophet……to restore all things” and to expose Satan’s right hand helpers or “workers of iniquity”. To reject Elijah and the message he brings is to reject (the latter rain of truth and power) The Trinity: The Creator; The Redeemer and The All Powerful Mediator.

The Holy Spirit cannot be disconnected from the living (not dead) prophet: the live instrument being used by the third person of the Trinty – the Holy Spirit. Read Exo. 19:5,6; Judgment of the Living: pgs. 48, 49 by E.R. Flowers; RH 7/18, 1882 last paragraph.

Here are other Bible references you can utilize to show that the gift will be among the saints of the remnant church. John 16:7… “I will send Him” (this “Him” is the Spirit the third person of the Godhead). Notice in verses 8-15, that this “Him” continues with the redemptive work of fallen humanity, as Christ signs off from His work to return to the Father, and be confirmed to begin His next phase in the contractual plan of salvation. The Holy Spirit has now taken charge of the work on earth. All must yield to His AUTHORITY! He is the All Powerful Dynamo controlling all things. The angelic host takes delight in executing His will.

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, He shall testify of me:
And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. John 15:26,27; 1John 5:8.

As this Trinity commenced their creative…….and redemptive work, the Word – which became sinful flesh, …….returned to heaven, and was again glorified with the glory which He possessed in the beginning with the Father: this majestic glory was His own glory which He possessed before sin entered the universal creation. This Triune Government operates in the perfection of the notes in the song of harmony. The song of heaven must be without discord. The instrument used by the Spirit must also be in perfect harmony with the song of heaven.

To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. Isa. 8:20. For further study read 1Cor. 12; Eph. 4; Early Writings 133-143 5th Edition.

“The Lord calls for a renewal of the straight testimony borne in years past. He calls for a renewal of spiritual life. The spiritual energies of His people have long been torpid, but there is to be a resurrection from apparent death. By prayer and confession of sin (done in an orderly fashion: directed by one working in right lines; i.e., Joshua and those with him – Zech.3) … must clear the King’s highway. As we do this, the power of the Spirit will come to us. We need the Pentecostal energy. This will come; for the Lord has promised to send His Spirit as the all-conquering power. (See John 14:16,26;16:7)

“The great issue so near at hand will weed out (i.e., to purify, sift or separate- look up these words in your Bible’s reference index). those who God has not appointed and He will have a pure, true, sanctified ministry prepared for the latter rain.”-- E.G. White, Letter 55 1886

“The great outpouring of the Spirit of God, which lightens the whole earth with his glory, (Rev. 18:1) will not come until we have an enlightened people, that know by experience what it means to be laborers together with God. When we have entire, whole-hearted consecration to the service of Christ, God will recognize the fact by an outpouring of his Spirit without measure (first in truth then in power Rev. 18:1; Acts 2:16-18); but this will not be while the largest portion of the church are not laborers together with God.” – RH, July 21, 1896

“The holy spirit is waiting for channels through whom to work. … Satan will not always triumph. The Spirit of God will be poured out upon the church just as soon as the vessels are prepared to receive it.” – E.G. White, Letter 171, 1897

“A nation shall be born in a day. How? By men whom God has appointed being converted to the truth. There will be seen “first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.” The predictions of prophecy will be fulfilled.”—Manuscript 75, 1905, EVANGELISM, PAGE 579

….. prophecy (cf Rev. 3:14 – 22) positively declares….. the Laodicean church… in a critically dangerous condition and know it not? …., whether or not you realize it, ……., that precisely is the case. And if you hope to enter into eternal life, you must believe it, and that without delay. Whatever else you may believe or disbelieve, this one thing you must believe, "for it is the True (living) Witness who speaks, and (today) his testimony must be correct." --Testimonies, Vol. 3, p. 253.

And remember that above all people, (angel number 7) the Laodiceans should not only be the last but the least inclined to criticize, for they themselves, says the True Witness, are "wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked," without so much even as suspecting it, but instead blissfully imagining that they are "rich, and increased with goods, and" in "need of nothing." Rev. 3:17. How, then, can they be in a position truly to (be God’s voice or) know anything about others!

Think, Brethren, and rouse to life! This voice, pleading with you to awake and avert the Enemy's pitfalls cannot possibly

be the Enemy's voice! Remember (that there are only two voices and,) that the Lord "surprises us (even today) by revealing His power through instruments of His own choice, while He passes by (rejects) the men to whom we have looked as those through whom light should come. God desires us to receive the truth upon its own merits,--because it is truth."--Testimonies to Ministers, p. 106.

"No matter by whom light is sent, (weigh or prove it; present your strongest evidence) we should open our hearts to receive it (because it is truth accept it) with the meekness of Christ.... (the Messiah believed all that the prophets wrote and so should we). We should all know what is being taught among us; for if it is (sanctifying) truth, we need it." (Those who reject light or truth are not sanctified.) --Gospel Workers, p. 301.

"The great danger with our people has been that of depending upon men, and making flesh their arm. Those who have not been in the habit of searching the Bible for themselves, or weighing evidence, have confidence in the (“ancient men” Eze. 9:6) leading men and accept the decisions they make; and thus many will (not accept but) reject the very messages God sends to His people, if these (ancient) leading brethren do not accept them."--Testimonies to Ministers, pp. 106, 107.

"He will use men for the accomplishment of His purpose whom some of the brethren would (not accept but) reject as unfit to engage in the work."--The Review and Herald, Feb. 9, 1895.

In the light of these warnings, will you not take time carefully and prayerfully to ascertain whether or not God is leading in this reformatory work? (See 9T 126.) He has promised to all who will do this, that He will not leave them in darkness but will guide them into all Truth. So will you not take Him at His Word, and try Him? (Read John 7:17.)

We plead with you to, for already "the agencies of evil are combining their forces, and consolidating. They are strengthening for the last great crisis. Great changes are soon to take place in our world," says Inspiration, "…the final movements will be rapid ones....The time is coming when in their fraud and insolence men will reach a point that the Lord will not permit them to pass, and they will learn that there is a limit to the forbearance of Jehovah....Those who hold the reins of government are not able to solve the problem of moral corruption, poverty, pauperism! and increasing crime. They are struggling in vain to place business operations on a more secure basis....Soon everything that can be shaken will be shaken, that those things that cannot be shaken may remain....

"It is impossible to give any idea of the experience of the people of God who shall be alive upon the earth when celestial glory and a repetition of the persecutions of the past are blended. They will walk in the light proceeding from the throne of God. By means of the angels there will be constant communication between heaven and earth."--Testimonies, Vol. 9, pp. 11, 13, 15, 16.

In view of these solemn realities even now looming before our eyes, no longer, Brother Sister, hide yourself in the darkness. Stand in the light, lest you stumble and fall and not be found. Come, take time, and

Let Us Reason Together.

The Laodicean church, the last of the seven churches (Rev. 2, 3), being figurative of the Christian church in her last period, our time, the message on record to her is therefore the last message to the church. So, plainly, if there is any Bible subject essential for the church to study, the message to the (seventh angel of the) Laodiceans certainly is.

Although satisfied with their attainments, the Laodiceans who believe and take God at His Word will not question Him concerning their condition but will, whether they see it or not, acknowledge that they are in a "sad deception," "wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind and naked." Having honestly made this acknowledgment, they will, in consequent obedience to the True Witness' counsel to buy of Him eyesalve which He alone can supply, anoint their eyes with it and be able to see.

Those, though, who recline in the false security of self-complacence, will pay no attention to the warning counsel, and will as a result lose everything--be spued out! Yet how few does this dread threat alarm! How few does it impel to find out where the trouble lies and how they stand! How few, indeed, does it even trouble! And O how few incline to inquire into it for fear that it may rebuke their evil course and deprive them of some sinful pleasure which they dearly cherish! Surprisingly few yet all too truly.

Then, too, there being instilled in them great fear of false prophets, and not at all awakened in them any expectation of true ones (although there can be no false where there are no true), they are now therefore almost beyond reach. And behind their careless attitude is seen the truth that "the pains of duty and the pleasures of sin are the cords with which Satan binds men in his snares" (Testimonies, Vol. 5, p. 53), while behind the deeply instilled fear of false prophets, is seen the false watchman's carefulness to keep them from coming in contact with the messengers whom God has sent to them. (See 6T 420.)

Our deep concern, therefore, is that there awaken an interest in you, dear Laodicean, to go to the bottom of the matter, to make sure of your salvation. So will you not be sensible and courteous enough to sit down with this lightbearer in humble, impartial, prayerful study which must repay you many, many times over what you put into it? Remember, there is a divine law that converts every honest effort into joy, a personal experience with God, and eternal life. So will you not start now to measure yourself, no longer by what you think you are or will be but by what the Lord says you are and must be? Begin your investigation with the ensuing Seven Questions.

1. Who is Laodicea?

2. Whom does the angel represent?

3. What is meant by being wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked?

4. What is it to be "lukewarm"?

5. Why does God prefer one either cold or hot rather than lukewarm?

6. What is the eyesalve?

7. Should Laodicea fail to repent, how would her shame be uncovered?

The Revelation, chapters 2 and 3, describes the condition of each of the seven churches the last of which is (number 7) the Laodicean. These churches, admittedly, portray the Christian church in seven different periods; the seventh, Laodicea, depicting her in the period just before the "harvest," the last in which the "wheat and tares" are comingled, and the one in which she is to experience the separation of the bad from among the good (Read Matt. 13 :30, 47-49).

The message to the Laodiceans is applicable to Seventh-day Adventists who have had great light and have not walked in the light. It is those who have made great profession, but have not kept in step with their Leader, that will be spewed out of His mouth(separated at the time of harvest) unless they repent. 2SM 66

There is in some of the members of the church, pride, self-sufficiency, stubborn unbelief, and a refusing to yield their ideas, (theories, habits, and practices) although evidence may be piled upon evidence which makes* the message of purifying the Church to the Laodicean church applicable. But that will not blot out the church that it will not exist. Let both tares and wheat grow together until the harvest. Then it is the (literal) angels that do the work of separation. 2SM 69. Read EW 118:1; *TM 373; 450; GC 36:2; 5T 80; Isa. 28:21; 63:1-6; 66:16, 19, 20 and etc.

Some may say, “the harvest (or purifying, separating) work doesn’t take place until the second coming or advent of Christ; “it’s far off’ into the future.” Read Eze. 12:27. Since Sister White didn’t say when this “refining process…or…harvest” was to “begin” the door was left open for it to be revealed to “somebody” to tell us when. Notice all of the above references are dealing not with the world, but His people – “His church or temple”. Also notice that the temple will be “thoroughly purged…;” read Matt. 3:12; Luke 3:17; Eze. 9; Zeph. 3:12 and examine prayerfully again the above references which also deals with the separation. The issues involved are of eternal consequences! “Thus saith the Lord:

…….There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord GOD. Eze. 12:28

I warn the Seventh-day Adventist Church to be careful how you receive every new notion and those who claim to have great light. The character of their work seems to be to accuse(*‘ the Church of being Babylon’) and to tear down (‘…disorganized..broken into…independent atoms’). 2SM 69. Please read for context* 2SM 68, 69.

…….Let the believers heed the voice of the angel who has said to the church, “Press together.” (Read also Mal. 3:16; Hebr. 10:25; Matt. 18:20; Ps. 133:1; Eph. 4:3,13. In unity is your strength. Love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous. God hath a church, and Christ hath declared, “The gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18). The messengers the Lord sends bear (His image or character) the divine credentials…. . Read also ibid74-76.

Please take time and prayerfully read for yourself the various, inspired references given for your convenience, in earnest painstaking effort study diligently to show yourself approved of God: researching into every inspired available source; become fully persuaded in your own mind or heart. Accept the scriptures upon its own merits. Faith must work; it must be active! Live out the principles of present truth in your everyday practical experiences. As you do this you are accepting – the plain straight testimony of truth. Then, and only then will we be rewarded the righteousness of Christ. Only the present truth can bring us to this purified state.

[Quoted Rev. 3:15 -18]

God calls for a spiritual revival and a spiritual reformation. Unless this takes place, those who are lukewarm will continue to grow (and become super – Laodicians” more abhorrent to the Lord, until He will refuse to acknowledge them as His children.{RH February 25, 1902, par. 7}

A revival and a reformation must take place, under the ministration of the Holy Spirit. Revival and reformation are two different things. Revival signifies a renewal of spiritual life, a quickening of the powers of mind and heart, a resurrection from spiritual death. Reformation signifies a reorganization, a change in ideas and theories, habits and practices. Reformation will not bring forth the good fruit of righteousness unless it is connected with the revival of the Spirit. Revival and reformation are to do their appointed work, and in doing this work they must blend.{RH February 25, 1902, par. 8}

“Ye are not your own; for ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” {RH February 25, 1902, par. 9}

No soul can repent without the grace of Christ. The sinner may pray that he may know how to repent. God reveals Christ to the sinner, and when he sees the purity of the Son of God, he is not ignorant of the character of sin. By faith in the work and power of Christ, enmity against sin and Satan is created in his heart. Those whom God pardons are first made penitent.{RH April 1, 1890, par. 5}

The pleasing fable that all there is to do is to believe, has destroyed thousands and tens of thousands, because many have called that faith which is not faith, but simply a dogma. Man is an intelligent, accountable being; he is not to be carried as a passive burden by the Lord, but is to work in harmony with Christ. Man is to take up his appointed work in striving for glory, honor, and immortality. God calls upon men for the use of every talent he has lent them, the exercise of every power he has given; for man can never be saved in disobedience and indolence. Christ wrestled in earnest prayer; he offered up his supplications to the Father with strong crying and tears in behalf of those for whose salvation he had left heaven, and had come to this earth. Then how proper, yea, how essential that men should pray and not faint! How important that they should be instant in prayer, petitioning for the help that can come only from Christ our Lord! If you will find voice and time to pray, God will find time and voice to answer.{RH April 1, 1890, par. 6}

Some of our brethren have expressed fears that we shall dwell too much upon the subject of justification by faith, but I hope and pray that none will be needlessly alarmed; for there is no danger in presenting this doctrine as it is set forth in the Scriptures. If there had not been a remissness in the past to properly instruct the people of God, there would not now be a necessity of calling especial attention to it. Some of our brethren are not receiving the message of God upon this subject. They appear to be anxious that none of our ministers shall depart from their former manner of teaching the good old doctrines. We inquire, Is it not time that fresh light should come to the people of God, to awaken them to greater earnestness and zeal? See RH 3/18, 1890 on page ________The exceeding great and precious promises given us in the Holy Scriptures have been lost sight of to a great extent, just as the enemy of all righteousness designed that they should be. He has cast his own dark shadow between us and our God, that we may not see the true character of God. (The blindfold must be removed.) The Lord has proclaimed himself to be “merciful and gracious, long- suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth.”

Several have written to me, inquiring if the message of justification by faith is the third angel’s message, and I have answered, “It is the third angel’s message in verity.” The prophet declares, “And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.” (Rev.18:1.) Brightness, glory, and power are to be connected with the third angel’s message, and conviction will follow wherever it is preached in demonstration of the Spirit. How will any of our brethren know when this light shall come to the people of God? As yet, we certainly have not seen the light that answers to this description. God has light for his people, and all who will accept it will see the sinfulness of remaining in a lukewarm condition…….; We must heed the council (found in)…….

To our brethren who are standing in this self-confident, self-satisfied position, who talk and act as if there was no need of more light, we want to say that the Laodicean message is applicable to you. Many professed Christians are without Christ because they refuse to weave his principles of truth into their life. The word of God declares, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness; for they shall be filled.” We should pray earnestly and inquire with sincere hearts as to what the will of the Lord is, that we may be ready to receive the blessing we so much need.

We must have oil in our vessels with our lamps, and not be like the foolish virgins of the parable whose lamps went out as they slumbered and slept, and who had no oil to replenish them, and so failed to be ready to meet the bridegroom. {RH April 1, 1890}

If we refuse this fresh gospel oil stored in the vessels our lamps will go out and we will not be able to meet the bridegroom!

The message to the Laodicean Church is applicable to all who have had great light and many opportunities, and yet have not appreciated them. [Rev. 3:14 -18 Quoted.] {RH March 11, 1902}

Since in her every section, the church must be true to her name (it alone being her identification), we shall therefore (continue to) consider the (seven) question(s):

Who is Laodicea?

Laodicea may be infallibly recognized amidst the many "isms" of Christendom by the work she is doing--declaring the judgment. Indeed, this mark of identification is pointed out by the very name Laodicea, compounded of the two Greek words lao and dekei, the one meaning "people," also "speak," the other meaning "judgment," the two in one meaning the people declaring judgment. The church therefore, which declares, "Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come" (Rev. 14:7), is evidently the one called Laodicea. And it is almost as well known outside Seventh-day Adventist circles as within, that the Seventh-day Adventist church is endeavoring to carry the judgment message of Revelation 14:7, and is therefore unchallenged in her claim to the title, Laodicea.

Since, therefore, the Seventh-day Adventist church is the only one proclaiming the judgment, (commencing in 1844 in connection with the sanctuary truth) and since each of the seven messages is addressed to the angel of the respective churches, the message to Laodicea is accordingly addressed

To the Seventh-day Adventist Angel.

According to Revelation 1:20, the "candlesticks" symbolize the churches, and the "stars" the angels (leaders) who have charge over the churches. Being the attendants of the churches, the angels are thus seen to be the ministry, whose responsibility is to have the lamps trimmed, filled with oil, and burning brightly, so that the church may give light to all about her.

Accordingly, as the Laodicean angel, him to whom the condemnatory message is sent, is symbolical of the ministry in Laodicea, he should consequently be the more anxious to discover where the trouble lies, for he is, says the Lord,

Wretched, Miserable, Poor, Blind, and Naked.

With a ministry wretched, miserable, poor blind, and naked, what church (candlestick) could possibly stay lighted? And with her light thus gone out or but flickering dimly, how could she lighten the world as God has set her to do? Through the eyes of the True Witness, therefore, the tragedy of Laodicea is starkly seen--"sleeping preachers preaching to a sleeping people" (Testimonies, Vol. 2, p. 337) while a sin-benighted world (because of the blindfold) plunges on hell-bent in its darkness! O what a piteous plight! And yet it is so utterly overlooked!

With both ministry and laity of (SDA’s and DSDA’s) in such a pitiful state of darkness, it is clear to be seen that though the Laodicean church is the last in the order of the seven churches, God cannot through her (or the DSDA’s) lighten the world and prepare His people for the Kingdom when she is in darkness and unprepared herself (not excluding the DSDA’s. See Isa. 33:9; Nah. 1:4; Hos. 6:8). Hence the necessity of a new order, a new ministry, as predicted in Testimonies, Vol. 5, p. 80, and in Zephaniah 3:11, 12.

Then it will come to pass that "only those who have withstood temptation in the strength of the Mighty One, will be permitted to act a part in proclaiming it [the Third Angel's Message] when it shall have swelled into the Loud Cry."--The Review and Herald, No. 19, 1908.

Let’s remember there will be God appointed laborers who are sent bearing the divine credentials. What are the divine credentials? Will you be one of them who bears the divine credentials?

Jesus said; when I speak My sheep knows and obeys My voice, (John 10) and they will know whether I’m speaking through you. Isa. 8:20 etc. Our faith must be tested and our response to His commandments or instructions determines whether we can be trusted.

To love Him is to follow His commandments/instructions. Many confess His “name” by giving only mere lip service to Him (what they claim to be “His name” are really only titles); others do great and mighty works etc., but He said unto them, “I never knew you depart from Me, ye that work iniquity”, Matt. 7:23. Why? They were “polluting” others via their examples. (TM 445.) Read Matt. 7:13, 14, 21-23; Luke 13:24-29. Read also 2 Cor. 11:13; Phil. 3:2; 2 Thess. 2:7. This doesn’t exclude Matt. 25:31-46, though some in this chapter are commended or approved. But wait! “…….Woe, Woe, Woe,” (Rev. 8:13) it also says in Hos. 6:8, that Gilead Davidians also “work iniquity”? So then the Lord Himself is telling them likewise, to “depart” from Him “into everlasting punishment” Matt. 26:46. This happens in the period of the third watch – the Gilead period. (See Mich. 7:14; Isa. 33:9,10). In the manuscripts: “The Judgment of the Living” and also the manuscript “Passover…Lord’s Supper…Easter” much has already been said concerning “Gilead’s……..polluted …filthy and undone condition”. Wisdom is lacking in the reinstituting of “The Lord’s Supper” by the president of the association. “Why then” reinstitute this most sacred ordinance which the Lord took away from us because of our “undone condition”: being still in the comingled state of wheat and tares? There is lack of understanding concerning the deep significance of this symbolic type. The interpretive explanation can be found in the manuscripts “Passover…Lord’s Supper…Easter…Parts 1 and 2. This is the period we are now living in. For further study read RH 6/18 and 6/25, 1901.

Here is another solid reason why we need the church to be thoroughly purified. We cannot read the motives of the heart. Only God can accurately read it. He sends His word, which is “like fire” to test or prove the metal. The metal is either purified or destroyed as it goes through the fire: the purifying process. The “refining process” has begun with those at the heart of the work of the Gilead Ministry: beginning with the highest official in the church; Joshua the high priest is the first to be proven, by going through this fire that is first in Gilead. He must be tested “before he’s even given the right to put the garment on”. His iniquity must first be taken away and his sins blotted out. Zech. 3:1-4.

If Gilead is in two phases then what phase is MT Jordan fulfilling? It has to be the first phase. Now at what period of time did the Gilead message become contaminated with errors? Take note that it is the leading part (the “city”) that is iniquitious and polluted with blood and etc. Now I ask you where is the sighing and crying message? Who is proclaiming it? Is it MT Jordan ? If it is then he must sigh and cry against himself. His own message (against himself). The “city” must be reclaimed by a new message; this is the only logical conclusion.

God has sent this BALM to be applied as the fire has commenced in Gilead, and it will intensify seven times seven. As we apply it we will not be “burnt up” but purified of the “dross” (idols), and “…the (“healing” —Tanakh) health of the daughter.…” (144,000) will be “recovered”/restored. Jer. 8:22. This is referring to the holistic healing. See Exo. 15:26; Mal. 4:2.

In the light of these facts, the prophetic message to the angel of the Laodiceans must obviously be brought and proclaimed by someone other than the angel himself. But this, of course, is the very thing that neither the ministry nor the laity expect or wish to happen. For the sake of the faithful, nevertheless, it is happening.

So since God's Word says that the ministry of the Laodicean church is wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked, and that neither they nor the laity are aware of the fact, it lends heavy emphasis to the statements: "Sleeping preachers preaching to a sleeping people!" (Testimonies, Vol. 2. p. 337); "the message of the True Witness finds the people of God in a sad deception, yet honest in that deception."--Testimonies, Vol. 3, p. 253.

Although they are in this horrible predicament, one which should make them tremble and fear, and give anything to get out of, yet they continue

Lukewarm--Neither Cold Nor Hot.

When one finds himself in a climate which is neither cold nor hot, but lukewarm, a temperature desired and sought by all, there he basks as a pauper become a prince! So it is with the Laodiceans, as represented in prophecy, though their supposed riches are nothing but a death trap!

To rescue one from such a terrible deception is a task which calls for the utmost wisdom not only because the victim is blindly inured to the perilous condition he is in, while his rescuers are endeavoring to save him from perishing, but also because he considers them as his enemies false prophets, instead of as his friends and deliverers, messengers from God! Read Obad.21.

From the life line, the saving message which they pleadingly hold forth to him, he recoils. And consequently by his attitude against them, he shouts: (in his “honest” state) Away, away, I am rich and increased with goods: I have need of nothing; I have all the truth. "I am satisfied with my position. I have set my stakes, and I will not be moved away from my position whatever may come."--Testimonies on Sabbath-School Work, p. 65; Counsels on Sabbath School Work, p. 28. (E.G.White.)

In protesting that they are not wretched (not unhappy), not miserable (not troubled), not poor (not in need of truth), not blind (not benighted or illiterate), not naked (not without the [garment] righteousness of Christ), the Laodiceans are contradicting the True Witness, rejecting His counsel, and discrediting His remedy--

The Eyesalve.

.......The eyesalve is that wisdom and grace which enables us to discern between the evil and the good, and to detect sin under any guise. God has given His church eyes which He requires them to anoint with wisdom, that they may see clearly; but many would put out the eyes of the church if they could; for they would not have their deeds come to the light, lest they should be reproved. The divine eyesalve will impart clearness to the understanding. Christ is the depositary of all graces. He says: “Buy of Me.” {4T 88.2}

………There are errors in the church, and the Lord points them out by His own ordained agencies, not always through the testimonies. 2SM.81:3.

As only the "salve" will heal them from their deadly Laodicean malady, hence if they fail to avail themselves of the cure (by searching for truth as for hidden treasure) and to apply it (in other words we must repent:accept the message being sent or), be spued out. O, Brother, Sister, (SDA’s; DSDA’s and whosoever) will you not call for the "salve"? or will you continue in your wretchedness, miserableness, poverty, blindness, and nakedness, and thus compel Him to spue you out and to

Uncover Your Shame?

That your shame, Brethren, might not appear to all, God has long forborne to expose to the world the sins which you have cherished and kept under cover. Not forever, though, will He forbear. So for your soul's sake, argue no longer that you have all the Truth; cease adding sin to sin; repent, and return to Him; He will just as gladly accept you and make a feast for you as did the father in the parable welcome back his prodigal son and make a feast for him.

Be not like the Jew. But open your heart; cast out its pride, its prejudice, and its self-conceit; let these not deprive you of eternal life at such a late hour as this. If you repeat the mistake of the Jews, your shame and your loss will be as much greater than theirs as are your light and your opportunities and privileges. Yea, beyond comparison! Note:

God will not treat men according to the position they occupy, according to their possessions, or their color, but according to the character they have formed. Thus will be decided the case of each one. The punishment of those who have had abundant opportunity to know the truth, but who in blindness and unbelief have contended against God and His messengers, will be proportionate to the light they have rejected. God greatly favored them, giving them peculiar advantages and gifts, that they might let their light shine forth to others (But refused to shine because they were not all together 100% Christians). But in their perversity (hiding their light under a bushel) they led others astray. God will judge them for the good they might have done, but did not. He will call them to account for their misused opportunities. They turned from God’s way to their own way, ( the way which seems right but ends in death-Prov. 14:12) and they will be judged according to their works. By walking contrary to the principles of the truth, they greatly dishonored God. They became fools in His sight by turning His truth into a lie. As they have been distinguished by the mercies bestowed on them, so they will be distinguished by the severity of their punishment. ----RH June 25, 1901, par. 16. Read Eze. 9:4-11; Rev. 14:9-12; Jer. 23:1; 4BC. 1157: 1-2; Isa. 8:12-p. 1141-1142.

So do not fail, we plead with you, to end your long Laodicean sickness and poverty, and no longer imagine that you are

Rich, Increased With Goods.

Never do you even so much as intimate that you have all the buildings, all the institutions, all the money, all the workers, all the converts you need! Your only boast is of having no need of more truth! This attitude, therefore, the Lord says, is the way in which you are saying, "I am rich and increased with goods, and have need of nothing." It is the source of your trouble, and the thing which He expects you to confess and to repent of.

Faith and love are the true riches, the pure gold which the True Witness counsels the lukewarm to buy. However rich we may be in earthly treasure, all our wealth will not enable us to buy the precious remedies that cure the disease of the soul called lukewarmness. Intellect and earthly riches were powerless to remove the defects of the Laodicean church, or to remedy their deplorable condition. They were blind, yet felt that they were well off. The Spirit of God did not illumine their minds, and they did not perceive their sinfulness; therefore they did not feel the necessity of help.

To be without the graces of the Spirit of God is sad indeed; but it is a more terrible condition to be thus destitute of spirituality and of Christ, and yet try to justify ourselves by telling those who are alarmed for us that we need not their fears and pity. Fearful is the power of self-deception on the human mind! What blindness! setting light for darkness and darkness for light! .{4T 88.1,2}

(Many are calling and have)…….called false visions and meaningless dreams the wonderful light of God, but it is like the chaff to the wheat. This is a serious matter. It will have a decided influence upon (those that believe them, and their loved ones)……. your family. While you regard your ....... words as spoken under the influence of the Spirit of God, it will be the same to you as though they were true. You are under (the) strong delusion (s) of Satan. You will claim to credit them,(i.e., the false visions and meaningless dreams) and thus your confidence in the veritable, genuine messages from God will be uprooted. And so will it be with all who believe as you do. This is why Satan is so constantly pressing in the spurious—to lead away from the truth. 2SM. 78.

Remember in her day there were those who called the SDA Church Babylon. Today there are so many voices, voices, voices! Within the church.
The S.D.A. church is symbolized on the leopard-like beast (Rev. 13) to the extent that it reveals she, like the rest of the (mainstream)Christian churches, rejected the messages brought to her in 1888 and 1930. See page ________. Some may attempt to question this interpretation of the symbolism, but they cannot deny the fact that the messages were not accepted. This being true proves the symbolism correct. The name over the heads of the leopard-like is not "Babylon" but "blasphemy" instead. (See Rev. 13:1,5,6.) Every message comes by inspiration, for otherwise it would be no message from God, because the Bible says that "holy men of God (messengers) spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (2 Pet. 1:21.) Therefore, to reject such a message is blasphemy against the Holy Ghost. (Matt. 12:31.) As all the (the denominated, mainstream) churches rejected the messages sent directly to them, the name of blasphemy over the heads (Rev. 13:1) is a most logical symbol. Hence, there is no ground upon which one can correctly conclude that the symbolism of the leopard-like makes the church "Babylon.”

Protestant Mainstream Religious Organizations:

   The leopard-like is a composite beast of all the beasts before it. (Read Rev. 13:1-3.) His mouth of a lion (Babylon), feet of a bear (Medo-Persia), body of a leopard (Grecia), the 10 horns (of the non-descript beast -- Rome), the wounded head (Catholicism), the unharmed ones (Protestantism), and the crowns (the kingdoms of today), again prove that the leopard-like beast is a symbol of the whole world. The S.D.A. church (head) being represented on the beast (world) by a symbol of the same likeness (head) as the other six churches (heads) would make the S.D.A. church no more Babylon than it would make her Medo-Persia, or Grecia, or something else. In fact, it would have been illogical if all of the seven churches (candlesticks -- Rev, 1:20) were not represented by a symbol of the same likeness as that of the other six churches (Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, and Philadelphia) for they (the early Christian and Protestant churches), too, were once God's chosen churches as the Laodicean is now.
   The symbolism is not placing the church in Babylon, but in the world (Egypt), and the evidence is so plain, both by the symbols and by the church's condition, that it does not require an angel to recognize this fact. Though the "Shepherd's Rod" plainly says that the church is in "Egypt," which point the opponents of the Rod are not trying to controvert, and while the Rod contends, through and through, that the church is not Babylon, they accuse it of saying it is! which in comparison means the same as to call black, white, and white, black.
   Moreover, as the churches are symbolized in "The Revelation" by seven candlesticks (Rev. 1:20), the symbolism must include the early Christian church, later the Protestants, and at last the Seventh-day Adventists, or the Laodiceans. These churches are not only symbolized by candlesticks of the same likeness, but are also all grouped together as are the seven heads on the leopard-like beast. If the assemblage of the candlesticks does not make the Laodiceans Babylon, why will the heads?1SC 4page 8
Since the history of the church is such (this proves that the leadership of each church never accepted the messages sent to them. See Jere. 8:9; 10:21; Rom. 16, 17, 18) and the last section
Shepherd's Rod book, Vol. 2                     93
(Laodiceans) is in a worse condition, Rev. 3:16 and under greater condemnation than any previous one, (the Laodiceans are the last of the seven fold split/division of God’s Church – see Rev. 2-3) and as there is no time left for calling out a new movement, then a message of amazing light and stern rebuke through the Word of God, with manifestations of divine judgments, is the only remedy that can bring true conversion and reformation.  Thus preparing a church to stand "without spot, wrinkle or any such thing," of which only can be said: "And the dragon was wroth with the woman [the church as a body] and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." (Rev. 12:17.)  It is the purity of the church that incurs the wrath of the dragon.
These "seven churches" were also symbolized by "seven candlesticks," and the leadership of the same churches, by "seven angels."  So we read: "The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks.  The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches." (Rev. 1:20.)  "And unto the Angel of the church of the Laodiceans write." (Rev. 3:14.)  Note the message is addressed to the Angel (leadership), and not to the candlestick (the church as a body.) Therefore, the condemnation is not to the candlestick, but to the angel.  "Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked." (Rev. 3:17.)  My brethren, this is not against you, for it is Christ speaking who died for you, but it will be, if you change not your course of action.
If Christ by assembling these seven churches in a group of seven candlesticks and giving the blackest record to the last one, is not calling the Laodiceans Babylon, then neither is the interpretation of the "heads" doing so.  It is not because the Laodiceans are better that they are not called Babylon, for their record is worse, but it is to show that on account of their increased light, He is to deal differently with them.  It is to prove that if the "angel" (leadership) of the church of the Laodiceans should reject the message of the "True Witness," He cannot call the 144,000 out from the midst of them into another movement by the call of Revelation 18: "Come out of her my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues," (Rev. 18:4), but rather by the message of Revelation 7 and Ezekiel 9.  Thus speedily releasing His people, and quickly "finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth." (Rom. 9:28.)
The seven heads are to symbolically point out these "high places" ruled by unsanctified leaders who have attempted to mix the sacred with the common, and refuse to hear the Word of the Lord.  The Biblical number "seven," denoting completeness, naturally would comprise all Christendom ( including the DSDA general association) at the time the prophetic truth is made known. (Mich. 7:14.) We can call this the omega of apostasy.  Such apostasy is not a strange thing in the history of God's people, for time and again the church has fallen under a satanic flood.  In Luther's day conditions were as bad as when the church crucified Christ.  If this generation is more wicked than any before it, what would immunize the church from just such an apostasy?  It is accepted by most Bible students that prophecies of this nature are understood only when the prophetic object in view is fully developed.  Therefore, this is the time of which the symbols speak.  Shepherd's Rod book, Vol. 2 p. 95
The time for us to understand fully the truth of Mich. 7:14, and other prophetic scriptures has come. Jesus Christ has made it clear that His own knows His voice. (John 10.) Before His swift lightening like departure to the right hand of the Father He left these words of encouragement for us:
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:1-3; see also 17:24.
"Long have we waited for our Saviour's return. But none the less sure is the promise. Soon we shall be in our promised home. There Jesus will lead us beside the living stream, flowing from the throne of God, and will explain to us the dark providence through which on this earth He brought us in order to perfect our characters. There we shall behold with undimmed vision the beauties of Eden restored. Casting at the feet of the Redeemer the crowns that He has placed on our heads, and touching our golden harps, we shall fill all heaven with praise to Him that sitteth on the throne." 8 T 254.

I will now share with you two letters written (1935) by two SDA members regarding their experience at the hands of their own brethren. Their experience is only one of the many experiences of the faithful few who endured fiery trials by their own brethren, but they nevertheless regarded duty above all else.

An Unholy Feast
Further In The Tracks Of Romanism

The Superintendent of the Wyoming Mission was here Jan. 12 and preached 2 hours against the SRod. Before they separated to celebrate the ordinance of humility, he had them vote that they would not allow any one to take part that was fighting the church, as he put it, and as he did not mention the SRod, had we not ventured to take part, it would have argued that we were guilty of fighting the church which, of course, is not true.

"When the congregation was finally separated and the water and basins were ready, they hurried and got them all before we could get any, and whenever they were finished with one, a sister, standing ready, would quickly take it and put it under her arm, thus keeping us from getting it!

"Sister Hendricks finally went up and asked for one, and the sister hit her in the stomach, almost knocking her breath out of her, and said 'No,' adding 'I will not let any of you have one.' Then Sister Hendricks suggested that we sing a hymn, after which one of the sisters immediately began a song, and we joined in singing. At the communion service following, they refused to serve us, thus carrying to completion 'their unholy feast.'

"That night at business meeting the elder reproved the sister for starting the song, saying that she should have let us start it, for which disturbance he would have had us arrested! He thanked her, though, for holding the basins so we could not get any.

"At this meeting, they 'cast out' as evil the name of another sister, who cried for several days over the mockery which took place during the meeting.

"At the same time they voted to have the doors guarded, and not to allow any of us to enter in the future. When I went to the next prayer meeting, they barred the door to me, and as they shut me out, I heard great laughter. The following Sabbath they refused to let Sr. Hendricks and me enter, so we stood outside until Sabbath School was over, it being 20 degrees below zero. Last Sabbath there were four of us who were kept without in the cold, but we studied our Sabbath School lesson and they had a council meeting inside to determine what they should do with us.

"Now they say we just come to antagonize them, and we want to know what is our duty: should we stop going all together or should we keep on going? It seems that if we never get to go, not only will our own interest suffer, but they will go on sleeping the sleep of death."
 (Signed) Mrs. Faith Pruett, Sheridan, Wyoming

"We certainly are having plenty of opposition here. They now have guards at the doors to keep us from entering, though it has been very cold weather. Last Sabbath the elder tacked a notice on the church. We were told by the Home Missionary Secretary that the notice was our Sabbath School lesson. The warning was to the effect that anyone disturbing was subject to a $50 fine or 30 days in jail! The elder made the remark to one of the company that he wished we would do something so that he could put us in jail! The hatred they manifest is awful, and they claim the right to guard the doors because God cast Satan out of heaven and because the angels have to carry golden cards before they are admitted into the Holy City!

"One of the sisters pleaded with the guards to let us in, but to no avail.

"If I had been told a year ago that the church would act in such a manner, I would never have believed it. It only serves to remind us of the history of the church down through the ages -- how that every time she lost her spiritual power, she resorted to the arm of the law.

"We surely enjoyed the last number of the Code which was a source of strength to every one of us. I only wish it came oftener.
   "We need your most earnest prayers."

(Signed) Mrs. Hazel Hendricks, ?Sheridan, Wyoming.

The answer to the in the first letter question signed by Sister Pruett received the following reply in regards to their circumstances:

Answer: Our relation to the church is the same as was that of John the Baptist, Jesus Christ, and the apostles, that is, we have a message to proclaim to the church and though the church, like the Sanhedrin, should order us out of the "temple," we must refuse to leave it, for if we depart, how shall we proclaim the message to the people? 1SC 8:8

Of the many experiences God’s faithful suffered at the hands of their own “brethren” I chose to relate these two particular experiences because it relates to the message of today – the message of the hour (of judgment Rev. 14:7); the day (of vengeance Isa. 63:4; Mal. 4:5) i.e., “the great and dreadful day of my redeemed” Isa. 63:4.) the month Joel 2:23 the additional light (Rev. 18:1) and the year (Rev. 9:15): the message of present truth which God is now sending. See Parts 1 and 2 Passover… Lord’s Supper… Easter: by E.R. Flowers.

When the Spirit of Prophecy warned us long ago that persecution would be the lot of every saint and that it would come first and worst from within the church, we did not realize how it could be possible, until during the last year when such outrages as recounted above began to be committed in the name of truth and righteousness.

Such developments leave us without doubt as to where we are in the course of time's events. Mark carefully the following statements:

"Christ said of Himself, 'Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.' The Prince of Peace, He was yet the cause of division. He who came to proclaim glad tidings and to create hope and joy in the hearts of the children of men, opened a controversy that burns deep and arouses intense passion in the human heart. And He warns His followers, 'In the world ye shall have tribulation.'  'They shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for My name's sake.' 'Ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolk, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

 "This prophecy has been fulfilled in a marked manner. Every indignity, reproach, and cruelty that Satan could instigate human hearts to devise, has been visited upon the followers of Jesus. And it will be again fulfilled in a marked manner; for the carnal heart is still at enmity with the law of God, and will not be subject to its commands. The world is no more in harmony with the principles of Christ to-day than it was in the days of the apostles. The same hatred that prompted the cry, 'Crucify Him! crucify Him!' the same hatred that led to the persecution of the disciples, still works in the children of disobedience. The same spirit which in the Dark Ages consigned men and women to prison, to exile, and to death, which conceived the exquisite torture of the Inquisition, which planned and executed the massacre of St. Bartholomew, and which kindled the fires of Smithfield, is still at work with malignant energy in unregenerate hearts. The history of truth has ever been the record of a struggle between right and wrong. The proclamation of the gospel has ever been carried forward in this world in the face of opposition, peril, loss, and suffering." A.A. 84-5.

"The apostle knew that he could not look for justice from the people (the church) who by their crimes were bringing down upon themselves the wrath of God. He knew that, like the prophet Elijah, he would be safer among the heathen than with those who had rejected light from heaven and hardened their hearts against the gospel.

"Thus it was that once more, because of hatred born of bigotry and self-righteousness, a servant of God was driven to turn for protection to the heathen. It was this same hatred that forced the prophet Elijah to flee for succor to the widow of Sarepta; and that forced the heralds of the gospel to turn from the Jews to proclaim their message to the Gentiles. And this hatred the people of God living in this age have yet to meet. Among many of the professing followers of Christ, there is the same pride, formalism, and selfishness, the same spirit of oppression, that held so large a place in the Jewish heart. In the future, men claiming to be Christ's representatives will take a course similar to that followed by the priests and rulers in their treatment of Christ and the apostles. In the great crisis through which they are soon to pass, the faithful servants of God will encounter the same hardness of heart, the same cruel determination, the same unyielding hatred. SC Vol. 1 No. 9 p. 2.

Remember the heart is where man’s problems resides: it is the citadel or seat of his reasoning faculties: his central nervous system. Man must reason; therefore he must choose! But before he chooses he must reason so that he may make the wise choice, but with whom or with what power does man reason, when he reaches the point to which he can reason? He has options. What source does he utilize to guide or lead him as he comes to the crossroads, and makes that final decision? Life’s final episode and greatest of dramas involving earths inhabitants, and the created universe has begun! The prophet has been summoned and has responded to the Masters call. To “come now and let us reason…” Isa. 1:18. Read this chapter. According to this scripture where there is no vision the people parish: Prov. 29:18. The following diagram or chart details this vision. Study it prayerfully with an open mind.

Man’s existence and functions are not from within himself. To develop he must receive from an external power greater than himself. His success or failure comes via his own choice, and this choice depends on whether He possesses wisdom, understanding and knowledge knowing (see Prov. 24:3-4); his next step would be executing that which he chooses. Whatever he utilizes as his guide or measuring stick (becomes his compass) determines his final and eternal destiny. We are now at the crossroads, and a choice must be made. The servant who he called has responded to his plan of order. What is your choice; duty, or self-interest? Come! Show yourself to be a steady shining star and not a fading, flickering star. Choose no longer rebellion but righteousness.

People need to know that in their quest or search for answers, regarding their existence, and life in general, that only the pure un-adulterated-truth can liberate them from this deadliest of mixture (swines husk), of the good with the evil: truth and error, the most deadliest of any combination indeed, creating a bottomless pit of total confusion (Satan’s pig pen).

THOUGHT: Truth Stands Alone: “The construction of an indestructible character depends on the materials used; set a guard to inspect the quality of the material.” E.R. Flowers: File 9/29/2015. Read again Prov. 24:3-4.

The lower (carnal) passions of the mind must be kept in subjection to the higher intelligences of the heart or mind. Whether you know it or not, this is the most fierce of any battle, we are called to fight! Self must die completely it must be conquered! Read 2T 439 – 489.

Guided in my search for answers, I now know, and I’m fully persuaded that man without Christ’s Spirit is no different from a new born infant or beast functioning under the dominion of sin; he cannot control his behavior; he knows not how to behave. In His reptilian beastly nature He acts from instinct. His mind cannot develop without the mind of Christ, or without the Spirit to direct, or restore His steps in the way surrounding the man in the chart on page _______. Store this chart in your mind; forget it not!

In the natural as well as in the spiritual world a seed planted must grow and reach full maturity. God sees that it is necessary to let due process take its course for the full development of the sowing of the seed planted. That we may grasp this object lesson, God has in the fullness of time been sifting His mainstream organizations of the headstrong, stubborn, rebellious ones who will not obey His words (commands). Lest we lose focus and forget this object lesson that is being powerfully hammered as we daily study and apply His instructions remember that the kingdom or organization will have good (wheat), and evil (tares) up to or until the harvest period; the third angel then will select by separation.

At the time of harvest they are to be separated for they have come to fullness of development according to God’s timetable. This is the reason He has sent the third angel (the additional message). My prayer is for the mind to focus attention and to be engrossed with these things. Man needs to have that inward unshakeable loving trust with the Eternal, this alone with give him stability in all circumstances. Choose you this day whom you will “serve”.

Father sent the Holy Spirit who interned has anointed Elijah to speak with us to bring our thoughts in alignment with His own. Unity can be achieved no other way. Here are some bible references to study to better grasp this objective lesson. Ez. 4; Isa 2:2-4: 1-4; Rev. 2; 3; 13:1-4; Mich. 7:14; Isa. 33:9; Jos. 6:8-9. Because these scriptures are highly prophetic and hard to be understood we are ready to assist you in the true meaning behind the meaning. Do you have a better explanation of the prophetic word than we need to hear from you. Let us reason together.

Many minds are being taken captive via strong and powerful delusions. It seems almost impossible for them to break the chains which holds them as helpless captives. Satan conceals himself from view via transformation, and thus he deceives and ensnares his prey. Many don’t even believe that the devil exists! Woe! What a powerful delusion this is! In the Garden of Eden this is how it all started: lets read a portion of Gen. 3:15. Note what the verse says – God said: “…I will put enmity between thee and the woman…:” to whom directly is God speaking? Think. Doesn’t this suggest a strategic plan or vision? Not until these words were spoken by the Creator could man then again choose the right. God interprets and directs man via His strategic plan or vision. By yielding to another voice of interpretation or plan man became servant to that other voice; thus another seed was planted in the heart of man. See chart on ______. It is no different today; only a message from God can reclaim and liberate these backslidden organizations. Read Isa. 61; TM 80; Judgment of the Living: pgs. 48, 49 by E.R. Flowers; RH 7/18, 1882. The present truth is now coming like “fire” to divide asunder the wheat from the tares: this purification or separation begins in and with the heart of the woman; God’s last church. We have been counseled to pray and work for the purification of the church ? organization ? and His vanguard.

"All who in that evil day would fearlessly serve God according to the dictates of conscience, will need courage, firmness, and a knowledge of God and His word; for those who are true to God will be persecuted, their motives will be impugned, their best efforts misinterpreted, and their names cast out as evil. Satan will work with all his deceptive power to influence the heart and becloud the understanding, to make evil appear good, and good evil. The stronger and purer the faith of God's people, and the firmer their determination to obey Him, the more fiercely will Satan strive to stir up against them the rage of those who, while claiming to be righteous, trample upon the law of God. It will require the firmest trust, the most heroic purpose, to hold fast the faith once delivered to the saints. A.A. 430-1.

   The servant of the Lord says of Pilate that "he did not understand the fanatical hatred of the priests for Him, who, as the light of the world, had made manifest their darkness and error. They had moved the mob to mad fury, and again priests, rulers, and people raised that awful cry, 'Crucify Him! crucify Him!'" D.A. 736.

   The S.D.A. church,(and DSDA’s are) repeating the history of the Jews (5 T 160), will be swayed by its "priests" and "rulers" today to take a course against "the faithful servants of God" "similar to that followed by the priests and rulers in their treatment of Christ and the apostles'”. SC Vol. 1No. 9 p. 3.

Prophetic truth (God’s strategic plan) did not stop its onward march in the time of the apostolic era; neither did it stop with Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, Laodicea (Rev. 2;3), or with Carmel, Bashan and Gilead (Mich. 7:14) the last of the feeding pastures commingled with wheat and tares. The closing work for Gilead: the last of the feeding pastures where the little flock was commanded or instructed to feed. It is very vital that we understand the condition of this last feeding pasture. Read again page _________ you will receive an intelligent understanding concerning the condition of God’s people. This is pivotal to our salvation let us keep pace or in step with Christ our Leader. Now let’s analyze the verses which follows in the juxtaposition:

Gilead is a city of them that work iniquity, and is polluted with blood.
And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness. Hos. 6:8-9

Thou (Lucifer)wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. Eze. 28:15

For thou (Lucifer) hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Isa. 14:13-14
It was not until a certain period of time that a search was made and the one who makes no mistakes found “iniquity.” Notice (Isa. 14) it begins in the “heart.” The “city” those in leadership positions must be warned or they shall die in their iniquity. See Eze. 33:8-10. The reason Gilead is polluted with blood is because they’re involved in an “unholy feast” rejected by the Lord.

The Omniscient One makes a thorough search and finds iniquity being entertained in the heart of this spirit being Satan; this seed he also planted into the heart of man. “City” is interpreted as the leading part of the church or body. See 1SR 243. We must be ruled by the rod of iron. Rev. 2:27; 12:5. Iron is the strongest of metals. See also Rev. 9:9, and 5 TR 68. Of himself man is no match against this mightiest of God’s rivals. Do we need this rod of iron?

As the 144,000 become more and more (in thoughts, words, and actions) like their Saviour, "the light of the world," making manifest the "darkness and error" enveloping the church, the leaders in their "fanatical hatred" of the saints will move "the mob to a mad fury" against them and, in desperation born of blind and raging hatred, will reach out for the civil arm of power to accomplish their evil ends, merging the following type into antitype.

"Thus by choosing a heathen ruler (Caesar -- symbol of the power of this world), the Jewish nation had withdrawn from the theocracy. (Here see 7 T 109, par. 1 in connection with 5 T 75, last par., and 5 T 456, bottom of page.) They had rejected God as their king. Henceforth they had no deliverer. They had no king but Caesar. To this the priests and teachers had led the people. For this, with the fearful results that followed, they were responsible. A nation's sin and a nation's ruin were due to the religious leaders." D.A. 738.

The division must come. The destruction of "Jerusalem is a representation of what the church will be if it refuses to receive and walk in the light that God has given. Jerusalem was favored of God as the depository of sacred trusts. But her people perverted the truth, and despised all entreaties and warnings. They would not respect His counsels.  The temple courts were polluted with merchandise and robbery. Selfishness and love of mammon, envy and strife, were cherished. Every one sought for gain from his quarter. Christ turned from them, saying: 'O Jerusalem, Jerusalem,' how can I give thee up?  'How often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!' Matt. 23:37...

"The publishing house has been turned into desecrated shrines, into a place of unholy merchandise and traffic. It has become a place where injustice and fraud have been carried on, where selfishness, malice, envy, and passion have borne sway. Yet the men who have been led into this working upon wrong principles are seemingly unconscious of their wrong course of action." 8 T 67-8.

Speaking of the S.D.A. church, the Spirit of God says: "Who can truthfully say, 'Our gold is tried in the fire; our garments are unspotted by the world'? I saw our instructor pointing to the garments of so-called righteousness. Stripping them off, He laid bare the defilement beneath. Then He said to me: 'Can you not see how they have pretentiously covered up their defilement and rottenness of character? "How is the faithful city be come an harlot?" My Father's house is made a house of merchandise, a place whence the divine presence and glory have departed! For this cause there is weakness, and strength is lacking.'" 8 T 250.

"Let us not say, Stay Thy hand, O God. The church must be purged, and it will be." 1 T 100. Read again the inside cover page II in this manuscript; and read these references RH 6/3, 1880; 1/8, 1884; 7/18, 1882.

Though the foregoing proves that the church needs and is going to be thoroughly purified, the following reveals that the S.D.A. ministry will not consent to it:

"The ancient men, those to whom God had given great light, and who had stood as guardians of the spiritual interest of the people, had betrayed their trust. They had taken the position that we need not look for miracles and the marked manifestation of God's power as in former days. Times have changed. These words strengthen their unbelief, and they say, The Lord will not do good, neither will He do evil. He is too merciful to visit His people in judgment. Thus peace and safety is the cry from men who will never again lift up their voice like a trumpet to show God's people their transgressions and the house of Jacob their sins. These dumb dogs, that would not bark, are the ones who feel the just vengeance of an offended God. Men, maidens, and little children, all perish together." 5 T 211.
   In fulfillment of the above, the ministry now scorns the idea that the judgment of Ezek. 9 is a literal slaughter upon "the house of God" before the close of probation for the world, taking rather the position that it is the seven last plagues, consequently saying, "We need not look for miracles and the marked manifestation of God's power as in former days....Thus peace and safety is the cry from men who will never again lift up their voice." Why? Because "all" have perished in the slaughter which they had declared God was "too merciful to visit" upon "His people."

The night is approaching and the shadows of the dark ages are beginning to fall upon God's people, when "all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution" (2 Tim. 3:12). The time is nigh upon us of which prophecy says: "The dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant (the 144,000) of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." (Rev. 12:17.) But we "reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." (Rom. 8:18.)

"For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory." (2 Cor. 4:17.)
   Therefore "beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: but rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when His glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the Spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part He is evil spoken of, but on your part He is glorified.... For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God." (1 Pet. 4:12-14, 17.)

"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time: casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, Who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen." (1 Pet. 5:6-11.) 1 SC 9 p. 3-4.

If you don’t believe reality has now come to you then fantasy will be at your door, and you will succumb to every deception which will come your way. Stand with this truth or fall for every falsehood! We can now choose the ALL or the NOTHING; for the time has come that judgment has come to you there dear reader, and listeners; you must now choose whom you will serve.
